The numbers and indices together is a nice solution. Otherwise we would have subdials cutting off the numerals.
You are fully right about everything else, this whole thing just looks uninspired and badly proportioned, oversized dial, shitty case without character.
My guess is that this is the result of being owned by a watch group. These shitty watches are not created because they need to be but rather because some business plan tells the company to do so.
