No. What I argued is that most of faux-niche/masstige companies don't have anything to do with fragrance making/creation, unlike in what they're claiming to appeal to the niche audience. These companies are just marketing companies and nothing more. To create a masstige company, you need just a bunch of marketing people. Everything else will be taken care of by external companies that will take care of that in a truly streamlined way. This stands in a stark contrast in the way that they're trying to appeal to the audience. All the photoshoots in Java's vanilla plantations or black-and-white portraits of the "creators" while thoughtfully sniffing blotters is bullshit. The only role of a masstige brand is to come up with a name for the brand, a bullshit history, find retailers, and push marketing. It's a 9-5 marketing job. You don't have to know anything about perfumes. There are companies that are going to do all the work for you.
