I like this color but I've heard that it's supposed to look pre-distressed so I was sort of wondering if that looks tacky in real life. My alternative would be the 8196 which is darker brown.

I don't think I've ever seen a pair as a part of a good fit, but I still like the way they look alone. Also, they look really bulky in all of the pictures I've seen of them, especially when there are jeans hanging over them (I wouldn't really do that, but still). Are they like that in real life/are there any similar boots that aren't bulky?
