Working class people in britain/europe generally wore heavy wool/tweed 3 piece suits with caps rather than denim etc, though they only usually had 2 suits, one for occasions one for general use.

Pretty much everyone wore them, even working class people, It's a modern view that you can only wear suits for special occasions, back then it was just ordinary clobber, clothing became far more casual in the 50's and 1960s.

Everyone wore clothing like that 85 years ago, it's only formal now cos people dress like shit these days. example of ''formal'' wear being worn casually, unemployed people in 1936. Even country clothing is just traditional clothing really. Lords and laborers used to dress alike.

They had low cut waistcoat like that in the 30's, they are nothing new, also nearly every male person in society wore them until the 50's about(people dressed more formally in general compared to now).
