Bare leather sole on a Hikers' bad cause you'll feel erry stone. 1K Miles can be had with a hiking sole or you can put one on. At $400 you can get them with an assortment of top shelf USA leather an Vibram hiking soles. Kinda cool to custom it.

If you want to wax your Hiker and make it smarter with a shine don't get Horween Chromepak Chromexel or annit like that. They don like wax. So those leathers aren't versatile in that sense. That could be a big decider against 1Ks an the like.

Junkard. You should feel the pull-up on any Chrome/oil infused leather BUT black is always less pull-up. I don't know why but black just doesn't have the same effect with pull-up?
