This shit is very popular in Russia. Rafs for example are every teenagers dream and stone island are very common amongst football fans and I know a few more politicians who wears it besides Medvedev. He also was considered a very progressive leader at his time. He was the first president running his own blogs like in every common social media and I’m sure that he himself or some of his managers was monitoring all of the online activities and trends in purpose of strengthen his image of all progressive and fancy leader.
The fun fact is that there is one social justice warrior named Alexey Navalny who you might be aware of, well so he used this rafs to trigger minds of strangulated society members as a metaphor for huge gap between them and officials, so thereafter it’s ended with series of wild protest meetings and as a symbol of protest people all around was throwing sneakers to the wires, trees and roofs. Quite obvious the meetings wasn’t about the rafs, but the corruption level itself in Russia, but this Rufs was the lead symbol in all that activities. Pic strongly related.
