If I were you I would consider moving your entire desk setup to one of your side walls instead to allow for more natural light into your room. I think a wood bookshelf next to your desk would look nice in your space and would be sturdier than a bamboo shelf, and you could surround the shelf with books and a plant to contrast with all your tech hardware. Not really feeling the legs you've currently got on your desk, since you seem to be going for a vaguely rustic industrial vibe with the old chair and side table for your lamp. I'd also consider cutting down the size of your mat/rug thing. That's just my opinion though.
