quality wise this type of year long heavy wear is expected of basic leather sneakers. though there's no shame in that, good for less than $150 boots.
as for the meme, it's silly to compare docs to a typical boot with a shank, sturdy construction, etc. . that's what everybody on here is mistaken about with docs, they're considered 'fashion boots', of course they're incomparable to military surplus boots. it's beating a dead horse.
albeit it's a downer the iconic boot's reputation has been tampered with in this modern age, i would've kept production in England and have kept it as a heritage brand.
