You have to look for inspiration outside of fashion itself.

Get books on architecture, biology, astronomy, film, graphic design, photography. Study everything. Cultivate a lifestyle of visual appreciation. Build mood boards. Assemble all the images that resonate with you. Scan strange things from old books in the library. Learn Photoshop. Take nude model drawing classes, they are often really cheap at local community art centers or colleges.

This is a good idea, I've been thinking about doing it for a while. Mostly I just assemble shit in Photoshop and build mood-board folders. But I did do this scorpion jacket for an insectoid clothing thread a while ago.

OC thread?

Did a quick mockup of a scorpion-inspired jacket in Photoshop. This would be made of some kind of translucent, flexible plastic material. The big upper segment in the middle would hide a storage area, like built-in backpack.

The hood would retract into the collar or extend over the head, like the segments of a scorpion's exoskeleton.
