I got a pair of R. Watsons a few months back and really like them, best boots I've found for the money.
Ariat is my favorite for entry-level boots though, my first western boots (as an adult anyway) were a pair of their Heritage Ropers that I bought about 4 years ago and I wore them every day for a couple of years and then demoted them to being work/bad weather boots, they're beat to hell now but still functional and comfy.

Do American-owned but not American-made boots count? I love my R. Watsons, US company but made in Mexico, and easily the highest-quality boots I've ever found for the $350-ish pricetag.

Got these R. Watsons a few weeks ago, liking them a lot so far. I don't think there's a better deal out there if you want traditional hand construction.

Just picked these R. Watsons up. First impressions are pretty good, really nice build quality and materials for the money, at $350 probably the cheapest I've seen for a quality western boot with real traditional construction. Had to go half a size down vs. other brands though.
