>It's every watch collector's dream: to find a super-rare and valuable watch for sale for almost nothing at a thrift shop, estate/garage/car boot sale or flea market. For Zach Norris, the dream became a reality recently when he walked into a Phoenix, Arizona Goodwill store looking for a used push-pull golf cart only, to stop by and dig through the store's watch basket on his way out. Inside the basket filled with Fossil watches with dead batteries (most priced around $15 according to Zach) was a watch, face down, that caught his interest. The dial said "LeCoultre Deep Sea Alarm." The price? $5.99.

>Zach knew the LeCoultre name and knew the watch was made by Jaeger-LeCoultre and probably was worth far more than the $5.99 price, but he didn't realize it was a vintage LeCoultre Deep Sea Alarm from circa 1959 worth over $35,000. According to the price tag, the watch had been put out for sale the previous day, January 16, and although Zach had left empty-handed in terms of golf carts, Zach left the 43rd Avenue and Thunderbird Road store with something far better. He completed his purchase of the watch for a cool $5.99 at 5:06:41 PM on January 17, 2015.

>Although Zach loved the watch, he realized the funds from selling it could be put to much better use helping to pay for an October wedding to his fiancée, getting his dream watch of an Omega Speedmaster Professional, and overall just improving his quality of life. Zach concluded that the watch was too valuable for him to wear or store away in a vault.
>A Rolex dealer, Eric Ku, made Zach an offer over $35,000 (or as Zach put it, over 6000X what he paid). Zach accepted the offer with the stipulations that as part of the deal he would get an Omega Speedmaster Professional.....
