I don't know watchmaking so I don't know how to check the gear ratio. If anything it's not a spinny rotor, it just moves kinda choppily. That would imply a higher gear ratio yeah, if it only moves in say quarter-rotations with a large wrist movement?

The post in >>17669473 makes me think about watches like the Baltic microrotor. It's obviously not a Patek but I think it's impressive they're able to democratize it a bit, make something that while not the same under scrutiny, looks close enough to the layman. It's like a good gateway to this kind of world you don't usually see in person until you're orders of magnitude more wealthy. Also I think it holds up better than the tourbillons but that's probably my post hoc purchase justification speaking.

What are /wt/'s thoughts on display backs? I skipped out on the Baltic MR01 because I wanted to stop impulse buying microshitters but I want to see gears go spinny on something other than an NH35 or bog standard ETA/Sellita. I'm not a total poorfag, but I don't wanna go buy a new Seamaster just because mine has a solid back with a little seahorse.
