I like preppy style in general, but I'm having trouble building fits. Every time I put something together in the morning, I feel like I'm dad-core and I end up changing into jeans and a tee because I don't want to look like a dork.

I don't like jeans and tee style, it's just a fall-back because I can't figure out preppy. Please help. Is there some detail about pic (besides that it's a model in a pro photo) that makes this style look cool instead of nerdy?
