The regatta timer is a really interesting complication, and the Yacht-Master II is arguably the best example of it ever made. Historically lots of brands have made regatta timers with varying levels of success including Heuer in the 70s. It's a fairly difficult complication to get right and designing the dial of one is a challenge - they typically end up looking like a mess.

The Rolex is probably the best regatta timer you can buy, but I think it's completely hideous. The reason it gets praised is because you are able to change the timer itself to any interval between 1 and 10 minutes, while traditional regattas typically stuck to either the 10 minute interval or 5 minute intervals. The 4 o'clock pusher advances the timing hand. I'm not sure why they decided to spend so much time and money developing it, seems far too niche and obscure for Rolex.
