The following is Takahiro Miyashita's The Soloist AW12 Collection.
Miyashita-san started working in fashion after being expelled from school and just wandering around Urahara (the notorious district of Harajuku where Jun Takashi, Hiroshi Fujiwara and Nigo came up, among others), buying clothes and deconstructing and reconstructing them. Eventually securing a job with Nepenthes, he later launched his Number (N)ine label in the 90s, and it became a streetwear sensation. However, as time progressed, the avant-garde elements of Miyashita's work became more and more prevalent and Number (N)ine underwent the tumultuous transformation from a streetwear brand to high fashion. In 2009, Miyashita left Number (N)ine for good, owing to a mental breakdown. However, he then later established The Soloist, a unisexual label based around his own eccentric personal style. The brand offers an extremely subverted and twisted take on heritage menswear, combining everything from nomadic traveller-wear to workwear in a whirl of styles, creating something truly unique.
I hope you enjoy.
