Here's my take. People who are into music or some other kind of artsy shit (or who claim they are) tend to dress in a certain way. For women the current trope is the arthoe. Once it might have been some punky or grungy look but now it's this peculiar evolution of the hipster that usually involves glasses, bangs, and a more promiscuous look than the OG hipster chicks of the 00's. Even if 95% of these arthoes have taste that goes only about as deep as Brockhampton, they're still far more likely to be into obscure art than the average Stacy. As someone who's very into music myself and dresses well enough to not come off too autistic, it just kind of makes sense for me to go after arthoes. This look signals to me that they're at least willing to TRY going a little deeper. I know you're not supposed to date someone with all the same interests as you but it's amazing how many girls don't even know about something as entry level as MBV. And yeah I'm well aware that they're into """polyamory""" and shit but it's still hard for me not to find them alluring
