not much to wear as a dude except jeans a tshirt really. u can get a nicer pair of jeans, a nicer shirt, but i usually just stick with h&m, levis, converse and other cheap shit, it mostly matters if you can style it right and it fits good. you want to be able to communicate something with your clothing, but you want people's focus to be on you and not what you're wearing.

there is absolutely no way anyone can just recommend a list of things to buy and expect you to like it, especially if you're just starting to develop your tastes. so just forget being spoonfed a list of things to buy.

start to research and get inspired by anything, art, photography, designer fashion, certain designers have an output of tons of great stuff you can look into like raf simons or martin margiela

just like whatever you like and dont try to validate yourself for others (unless you make people around you uncomfortable and you dont want that reaction)

you're gonna have to tailor what you wear based on your reaction to others reactions to you basically, thats a long process and only determined by you. and it doesnt "end". you cant really opt out of fashion, its for life.

one general rule of thumb for fashion i can give you is that attractive people can get away with wearing anything, they will always have that brand of an "attractive guy" if they are tall, good skin, good facial structure, athletic body, despite what they wear. most of us on the other hand have to create a unique rebranding so that when people look at you they go "oh thats just joel. hes into weird fashion but hes cool."
