My samples came in today, to the anon who mentioned the Amouage stuff when we were talking about Live Jazz and anybody else who is interested.

I got them from Fragrance Samples UK and they have a deal where they throw in an extra sample if you spend £30. The extra sample they sent me is Blackberry and Bay by Jo Malone. I dunno how random it is, I think they probably try and match it with the frags you buy from them. Last time I ordered stuff from them a while back I got a sample of Aventus and they threw in a clone as well. They send the samples in a little drawstring pouch which is kinda fun

I'm trying Enclave just now, it's pretty nice, it's like a more complex La Nuit de l'Homme, at least in the opening anyway. I thought it smelled almost identical when I first sprayed it but once it's calmed down a little the mint and cardamom come out a lot more. I can smell incense which isn't listed in the notes. I don't have a ton to say about it at this stage but I like it so far, warm spicy with a mint note that cuts through it and keeps it interesting. Sometimes there's a bit of a dentist/old-timey mouthwash vibe, probably the clove/mint combo, it's a little funny but not offensive at all, it's really a nice fragrance. I'm assuming that'll fade as it dries down more too.
