As much as it pains me, the people gutting these aren't wrong. The asbestos and other garbage in the walls needs to be cleaned out. All the plumbing, electric, and other infrastructure needs to be brought out of the 1920's. Ideally, I would want to see as much of the original as possible used to restore it close to its original appearance.
