they don't mean applying heuristics/stereotyping, i.e. someone dresses like a skater, he probably skates. that's not vapid, that's basic pattern recognition. if he's dressed head to toe in fuckboy shit: palace, cav empt etc., he's probably a poser or instagram skater at best. and if someone dresses like a basic hoe, she's probably a basic fucking hoe.
