Unless you have extreme watch autists in your circle, or people in the know of how much a rollie costs nowadays and they know your average income, you have nothing to lose with buying a HQ rep. You would only be lying to yourself. But at that point, if all the other NPCs are (mildly intrigued), would you really care that you spent 1k vs 20k for a "real" one with box and papers?

If your social circle entails watch snobs that know what to look for, and you handing your watch over for them to inspect, you have other issues.
