The hesalite version is "superior" imo, much warmer domed crystal and clearer dial, no milky ring from the sapphire. That said I for one haven't ever cared about exhibition casebacks. If you were at a Boutique: they do not bargain... and most ADs will not bargain more than maybe throw in a strap if you're buying the bracelet version etc. The Moonwatch is always a good seller so they don't really have to move units.

I would totally recommend buying from Omega at an Omega Boutique if there is one near you, it's a fantastic experience, otherwise at least buy from an AD. "Hand Wind Coaxial Chronograph" is a type of watch that only Omega makes, and so if something goes wrong you're going to want a legit warranty.

Either that, or buy a used 1861 Caliber moonwatch that's already out of warranty and pay 4.5kish instead of 7k for a new 3861 hesalite/8k for a new sapphire sandwich.
