I'd say go for the absolute opposite of what you mentioned. I'd be looking for a super simple but well done stainless steel sports watch. Not buying too heavily into any of the meme vintage inspired divers trends, you don't know how well they are going to age.

avoid getting any dogshit budget moon phase or chrono movements get a simple workhorse eta, Sellita , seiko movement. Something anyone can service and they will be parts from after a nuclear apocalypse.

Something dressy/casual that you can wear every day regardless of the environment. That will gain a bit of character after it gets rouged up a little. I'd suggest something like a Sinn 556i which you can dress up or down pretty reasonably

I think going that route will get you and whoever you pass it on to a little more timeless than some faux heritage piece. That being said it's your money do what ever the fuck you want to do
