Now we only need to wait another 2 years until they offer it in blue and we're back in business baby. (pic unrelated)

We should really put the small divers in a sticky so we don't need to suffer these rants anymore.
Omega Seamaster 36mm
Longines Legend Diver small
Longines Hydroconquest 34 mm
Tudor Mini Sub
Citizen Eco Drive 33.5 mm
Seiko SKX013 (discontinued though)
Nomos Ahoi Neomatik
Rolex Yacht Master 37 mm

This enough choice for you?

at this point we should keep a pastebin with sub 40 mm divers.
Start with the Longines Legend Diver
Citizen Promaster
Steinhart Ocean One
Omega Seamaster 36
Vintage Tudor Mini Sub
and I can't remember the other ones right now

Citizen Promaster 36 mm
Omega Seamaster 36.25 mm
Longines Legend Diver
Seiko SKX013
Tudor Mini Sub
Marathin SAR 36

I'm sure there's more than those actually, there's a list that sometimes pops up here with pretty much all of the smaller mens or unisex divers.

yep, I'd also say 34 mm and if you're equipped with manly wrists that is already pushing it. 36 mm is universally heralded as the perfect "midsize" diameter for an everyday watch.

The BB36 has a very big flaw to me, like all Tudor watches have. Even if you ignore the huge crown the smooth bezel looks totally off-putting. Make the whole watch look cheap in person.
I think they do this on purpose: design a great watch and then they change at least one thing to make it worse, otherwise Rolex would feel threatened for some reason.
I think you should get a Datejust, the most versatile Rolex they offer imo. Explorer I isn't my cup of tea either.
If you want something that's not a Datejust and more casual I think you should perhaps look for something else entirely, maybe not even a Rolex (pic not really related)
