Believe it or not there was a time when being a nazi or expressing nazi beliefs was not even remotely socially acceptable, so something like a logo that could be re-jiggered to resemble a swastika was not a big concern because why would any company want to have a swastika for a logo

In the post-4chan era of course that's no longer a given and companies are a lot more careful, but yes before you were born, it "wasn't ok to be white" to put it in words you might understand
