Back about 8 or 9 years ago, I was one of the handful of anons who created marscore out of the ashes of lunarcore. The idea was to perpetuate the SciFi vibes we loved from lunarcore, but in a way that contrasted directly with the original style. So where lunarcore was focused around slim topheavy silhouettes with bomber jackets, highly tapered cargo pants, and light boots or slim canvas sneakers in light grays and white, marscore went in the opposite direction. Taking inspiration from the dark gritty sci-fi aesthetics of films like Alien3 and Chronicles of Riddick, we switched it up to instead focus of heavy bulky work boots, baggy or straight cut pants, and incorporated longer styles of outerwear like parkas, anoraks, duffels, and dusters. The color pallet was shifted to darker grays and rusty browns, with bits of olive green for a generally drabber darker look. We concluded hard-wearing materials like duck canvas reenforced with rivets and leather, ballistic nylon, Kevlar, and ripstop weave fabrics should feature prominently.
