How much time/effort do you put into maintaining your clothing?

I'm wondering this as I reach a point where I want to invest in quality over quantity, but lots of quality stuff requires higher maintenance. Apartment washer/dryers suck, hand washing makes me nervous (sinks are fucking disgusting, I don't want to put my clothes in there), color always seems to lighten on darks or turn yellowish on lights (despite best efforts to follow care instructions and take precautions with the washing), and even the best shit seems to get wear easily in day-to-day life.
