would you say that this bugmen mentality applies to /fa/ and other fashion internet communities in general?

I'm a 30 year old boomer and used to be into /fa/ and similar communities pretty heavily 10 years ago. desu during that time I fell for all sorts of memes and now find it more cringe when I look at how I dressed when I regular visited these places compared to before them. and I think I visited these places and was into /fa/ to fill some sort of void.

I feel like I became a better and more natural dresser once I stopped frequenting these places.

desu, automatics are a meme. and don't get how people act like they are actively experiencing the movement. just for what? to see it swoop/tick super close when you decided to check the time for 2 second which you don't even notice the second hand.

literally paying a lot more for something waaaaay less accurate just to larp about an emp attack and still having a watch. or for it to be a lifetime item but would end up selling/buying more watches before it gets serviced, if ever .

Ive transitioned to pretty much all quartz except for 1 watch which is automatic.
was just sick of the watch being a few minutes late by the end of the week.

the automatic is just one I would only wear on a random day and doesn't have a date so I just set it for the day then forget about it until next time I decide to wear it.
