Open up this pic, and compare it with a different white tee in your wardrobe. Surely you'll see the difference.

You would be hard-pressed to find a tee similar to the Acne one elsewhere. I'm not saying it's superior, or better looking than a $10 Uniqlo tee; I'm just showing you how not all plain white tees are as plain as you might believe.

If you want an analogy, ask yourself:
What's the difference between a $10 wine and a $100 wine? They look the same, and they both taste like fermented grape juice.
