I'm trying to buy my first watch. Here are my requirements:

> Your budget
< 300 USD
> Watch type, e.g. dress, diver, pilot
Casual or dressish
> Movement, e.g. automatic, hand wound, quartz
Quartz or automatic
> Desired features, e.g. water resistance day/date, 2nd time zone
Day or date would be nice. Some spashproofing nice as well. No metal watch bands as I find them kinda heavy to wear day to day. I have a wrist diameter of 20cm (7.87"). Ideally <10mm thickness

I was thinking of going with the Sternglas Naos Quartz (38mm). It's sad that it doesn't have a seconds hand though. Was looking at automatic as well but it's 12mm thick which just seems too much. Is this a good buy? I understand that it's a dress watch but I want to wear it casually. Will this look dumb on me if I mainly just wear casual blue jeans and black shirts?
