The watch industry always takes at least a decade before adjusting to the market. They push out new and exclusive shit noone asked for, while people dig deeper in the vintage sections. The most prominent issue with re-issues is the increased size (be it case and/or font), and consequently fucked proportions, which no longer work. Just look at Longines. The largest watch in my collection is a type-a flieger at 43mm that looks -just- right. Even 40mm watches look odd if they are too thick.
