Sorry if I ramble I am drunk. You can still find a seiko turtle for cheap, usually the Pepsi dial version. Match it with a strapcode bracelet.

A dive watch is the PERFECT outdoors watch. 200/300m COSC rating is an absolute peace of mind. You can stuff your arm all the way up a horse asshole with no problems. You didn't mention your wrist size but I assume you want a sub 40mm otherwise I would say get a elabore 2824-2 squale 1521 which nobody in these threads ever talk about. Sub 40mm dive watches under $1000 are for some bizarre reason very hard to find. I honestly cannot think of a good one I can confidently reccomend to you.

Alpinist.... The new alpinist still have the potential to be good. I have to admit that seiko's actions in the last two or three years have been pretty nasty. All we know is the price and the movement. It could be a completely new design with more money being spent on the product's manufacture. It's immature for you to drop the thought so quickly.

So seiko is releasing a new alpinist series with a new movement, coming in green, black and white dials. Sadly the price seems quite high.

What do you guys think? I would own one if they did a variant with no silly compass bezel.
