How can i soften my thick, coarse hair?

I shampoo and condition everyday (i know its not that great for my hair but i do a lot physical activity on a normal day and need to clean up).

I got asian hair that tends to be very thick and stubborn when it comes to styling, i always end up with a wiry untamed look.
