Loake chester isn't so rounded in the toe; more flat and spade like.

Grenson are good, but not for their RRP. I'd recommend spending your money instead on anything from the Loake 1880 line, as they are goodyear welted and made in England (as >>7102665 has said, there is some debate on which Grensons are actually fully made in England, and which ones are made elsewhere) .

In particular, look at the Loake Edwards or Chesters (pic related). I think if you can spend more then Trickers, Churchs etc. provide a better quality shoe, but they are also quite a bit more expensive. I recently bought a pair of Loake Bedales and so far they seem to be pretty nice.

Any Eurofags have experience with Loake? (unsure if they are UK only) I'm thinking of the Loake Chesters, any alternatives that are readily available in the UK?
