Serious thread, guys.
Well I'm thinking of making some clothes, I'm not planning a big thing but it won't be a printed t-shirts which every teen seems to be doing now either.
The thing is my mother is a superior tailor, she's been crafting clothes since I was a kid, and she's still taking small orders from the neighbours and friends. I mean she has a skill even for complex stuff like outerwear.
As for me, I have a 6yr expirience in graphic design and illustration so I can draw and present things well, also I have some expirience with designer pieces so I have the some examples of cuts and garments but I don't want to rip these things off, the whole point of starting the thing is to bring by own stuff.
The focus will be on made-to-order pieces so no large runs, no factory scale, hand made only. But that's only after making enough stuff for myself.

So here is the question, is there a chance to get a demand on my stuff? What would convince you to buy my clothing? Will the nice original design, fit and decent quality do the thing? Or the brand matters now?

Additional question, where to get some cool fabrics beyond local fabric store, I mean more complex ones.
I have the access to deadstock military fabrics (wool, canvas, pattern textile) are they good enough?
