Look up the actual definition of assault. But also I have technically been sexually assaulted before and it wasn't traumatic and idiots do make it out to be more than it really is. There's a world of difference between being groped in public and being brutally violently raped and it's genuinely cancerous to pretend there isn't.

It could be depending on how it is done (i.e. to what degree it directly invades one's personal space) but I can't see that necessarily being the case, if I'm understanding the legal definition correctly.
