Well, personally, I think that with a lot of tan hats, and only one dark brown one, I still think it's a good idea to wear darker brown shoes with the other lighter brown down to off-white hats. By off-white, this is what I mean by that.

Hello /fa/, i am looking for an equivalent of the Stetson Open Road hat or in general an affordable alternative to stetson hats. Any tips?

I like Stetson Open Road hats. I have one in the silverbelly color, as well. It can be worn with just about anything, as it has a harmonious color that goes with things ranging from warmer tones of khaki, brown, olive, to cooler colors such as blue, grey, and black. Make sure to measure your head for hat size, following their instructions, and then you can order it. Please note that most Stetson western hats are stuff, but softer hats exist. This video explains the difference of the un-stiffened fur felt version of the Open Road, to the stiffened fur felt one. My version of the hat is the stiff kind, typical of modern cowboy hats.
