1. Where are you getting this idea that most of /fa/ is under 18, unless you are? The tone of the board is markedly early-to-mid-'20s.

2. What makes it cosplay, as opposed to any other catchphraseable style? Why is a teenager trying to dress like some bluecollar astronaut worse than trying to dress like '50s WASP, or a folk singer, or a rapper, or anything actual teenagers do try to dress like?

3. PLENTY of teenagers cosplay, if you haven't noticed. Call me when people are spending hundreds of dollars to go to Lunarcore conventions.

4. Most parents don't have the inclination or the bank accounts to cop their kids a shitton of PRPS or whatever, and for those that do, who cares if they're dropping it on that and not Ralph Lauren or whatever shit?

And teenagers frequently have their own jobs, and even for the ones that don't, who cares about their able and willing parents? Buying clothes for your kid for a certain span of time is part of the expectations when you decide to have a kid. Tough shit on any of them who mind.

Basically, I think everyone involved in this situation can take care of themselves and make their own decisions without your fucking bleating stupid intervention.

5. "Protecting children" is a Godwin's Law tier argument in any situation not involving actual violence.

6. And if this somehow does become a thing with Gen-Z, well, maybe the US space program will finally get the support it needs. So let's hope it is and all those millions of sap parents are sipping Ramen right now.
