Recently i've started up a label with a friend of mine.

The entire thing has been completely my idea from the start, the style, the image, everything about it. My friend expressed eagerness to join in a "business" with me, so i welcomed him, thinking it would be fun having someone to help. Unfortunately my friend has no idea about clothes or fashion, hasn't really shown much interest in learning about it or getting involved, and in general seems to just be leaching off my ideas as a way to make money. He's contributed nothing in terms of original design or ideas.

The problem is, in the early stages he fronted most of the cash for supplies such as a screen printer and paints/fabrics. We're now in a situation where we are selling quite alot of stuff, however he is the one taking the money because he's fronted all the initial money for equipment. Basically i'm not seeing a cent until these materials are paid off. Once they have been paid off, i've realized i will be having to split a profit off something that is 100% my originality and creativity and vision.

This guy knows nothing about clothes, he wears fake leather jackets and sneakers for fuck's sake. He is one of my good friends and i just feel really bad about the whole situation, if i design a shirt and sell it for 50 bucks i don't wanna be splitting that money because he's my "partner" when i've done everything and he's just paid for the materials.

Any advice on what to do here would be great.
