I mean, it checkmarks what most "denim enthusiasts" would classify as a good jean - heavyweight denim, 100% cotton, chainstitch with selvedge. But I don't think those should be the criteria, because most denim nerds obsessing over Iron Heart or Samurai are next to delusional - they have next to no regard for fit (as long as it's a repro of a vintage cut) and disdain anything made with elastane.
But women's jeans have incorporated elastane, at least 3% or so for jeans, because it helps achieve a better fit.
Nudie's cuts don't fit that well, the denim itself isn't particularly good, and their quality control isn't great either - I had to get mine hemmed because the inseam of one leg was about 1.5 centimetres shorter than the other. That's why I dislike "entry-level" denim companies like Nudie and Naked & Famous - you get poor cuts with poor denim - at least with companies like Pure Blue Japan and Red Cloud, you have admittedly amazing quality denim, and brands like Acne offer far better jeans in terms of fit.
But hey, Nudies have selvedge! And their cheap! Why would any dislike them?
