ok /fa/ im coming for advice, but be advised im new to this board.

I have the worst fucking problem with shirts ever.
I like a fairly snug fitting shirt, but im 6'1.
If i buy a large shirt, 90% of the time its the right length, but way too wide, and makes me look like a cholo or fat
If I buy a medium shirt, it usuallyyy fits about right, but is always too short, like shirt lifts if i move my arms

Does anyone else have this problem? What do you do?
Sometimes i deal with a short shirt, and always wash it cold and hang dry it, but inevitably i forget and it shrinks, or ill buy a large and shrink it on purpose and hope for the best(usually doesnt work).
I can get moderattteee success with hurley or whatever slim fit T's, but then i have the same brand for all my shirts and people notice lol.
Is it completely crazy to get a tshirt tailored? That just seems so... expensive and gay..
Any advice?
