I painted some vans red with 2 layer of acrylic paint. I have been wearing them for 2 weeks and the paint cracked a bit but only the 2 layer so you can't see the original colour.
(This picture was taken after 2 weeks of almost daily wear) sorry for broken English, only trying to contribute.
