Sounds like he's still working for G Star then. His design process is really impressive though, totally rearranging where one would expect the seams of even simple garments. Also his sketches are really charming and pleasant to look at.

To me for clothes to be nxtlvl it has to be something that has never been done before. Usually that comes down to design and material. The two main people that come to mind would be CCP and Aitor Throup. Both are very different but use incredible materials, use unbelievable processes when crafting the pieces, and end up with fantastic never before seen garments.
