Oh, I'm definitely going to get the Panerai, 510 or 564, maybe even the 560 if I can live with no second hand. I'm really just venting a bit because the AD jacked up the prices, but it is what it is, and as you write: It is an expensive hobby.

That would be true for most of the watches I have so far. I like how loud it is, yet at the same time how clean they look.

I kind of disagree with you. Watches like Panerai, Hublot, and a number of diver and pilot watches are large for a reason, that being the requirement of fashion at the moment or legibility, and I believe one should just accept that the watches are made oversized, and should wear larger than "regular" or dressy watches. That said, my wrists are 17.8 cm around and passably wide, so I'm told I should consider myself lucky. However, the other guy is right, you shouldn't be so quick to dismiss Panerai without having tried them on first - They wear smaller than you'd think.
