The most commonly damaged parts of an accutron are the coils and the index wheel; getting a donor slava with those two being functional would basically require getting another working slava.

You can't set the hands backwards because unless the tension in the canon pinion is literally perfect, you'll be pushing the index wheel backwards against the fingers, shearing off the teeth on the wheel and ruining it.

There are a lot of historically important watches in the evolution of chronometry. That said, like I mentioned, I want to write more about my collection, rather than just start arbitrarily buying some other kind of watch. That's the kind of unfocused accumulating that turns a collection into a hoard.

It's a technical information booklet for the 218 from the 60s, published by Bulova. My guess is that it was given to dealers to show to customers and to educate themselves on the movement. It's not a service manual, and the content isn't all that technical. But it's a cool artifact.
