the big three [ if boutique, patron of the new (where sz hosts their magazine release parties) and hotoveli ] are all pretty similar in design and more than worth seeing. lower-tier shops like OAK and atrium do a poor facsimile of that reclaimed, sort of noncommittedly brutalist thing. what's funny about OAK, actually, is that most of the SA's wear drkshdw and rick and will totally have an enthusiastic, knowledgeable conversation w/ you about the rick you're wearing ... and then try to sell you designs unskillfully and unashamedly ripped directly from RO (...)

acne, alexander wang, surface to air, dior homme, et al are right on or nearby IF. they put a lot of work into their storefront designs too, but it's not the same game. the new plinth mannequins they put up in the rick store are absolutely insane though
