I haven't tried it on, but have seen it in person when I was shopping with someone else some years ago. While I like the rose gold more than the steel+white dial, I wouldn't get this watch in a precious metal considering the price which would put it amongst a whole other class of watches.

I would probably go for the steel+blue dial version, which provides a bit more visual interest and goes very well with the grey colour of the tungsten bezel. I also don't particularly like the blackened logo/indices/etc. of the steel+white dial version. As regards proportions, I don't have any experience with vintage Constellations and can't make the comparison so I'll trust you. I would have preferred the following changes to the dial: smaller "pie pan" section with longer indices and a slightly longer/thicker set of hands. Date at 3 o'clock. If the numbers are to be trusted, this watch at 39mm diameter, 46mm lug to lug, 13mm thick would probably wear similarly to although a bit smaller than my 41mm Seamaster Diver 300M (previous reference), which sounds large but is something I would be able to handle.

Mechanically, the only real competition to this watch, at this price, is the Aqua Terra, but I think most Aqua Terras are lame (sorry) and that this watch is a more interesting piece.
