There are also many grades of leather, and most of the more 'affordable' leather jackets are not made with quality leather. What this means is that a lesser garment will not improve with age. Rather, it will either delaminate, distend or discolor. A surprising number of leathers nowadays are made with 'bi-cast' leather, which is the leather equivalent of particle board.

So it's like anything else. You can live in a particle board house lined with off-gassing chinese drywall and PVC pipes, or you can shell out a whole lot more and live in something healthy and beautiful that won't be falling apart in five years.

Why is this such a sticking point for you? I'm actually not that concerned by your derision for how this man spends his money. What bothers me is your stubborn unwillingness to accept the validity of any viewpoint but your own.
