This. I try not to idolize celebrities but Newman is a person I genuinely admired. Not just for his looks and talent, but the way he conducted himself. He wasn't a braggart or an egotist. When he started racing, he could have bought his way into the big leagues but chose to start out in the lower tiers. He was progressive and treated people fairly, but wasn't a wimp or pushover. He made mistakes, but he owned up to them. He took responsibility for his first marriage failing, learned from his mistakes and stuck by his second wife until the day he died. He bought a nice house in the country instead of gilded mansion in Beverly Hills. He was a hands-on philanthropist.

In an era of Maxim, MAGA and childish machismo he's the kind of man that hardly exists anymore but is sorely needed.
