Depends completely on the style, yeah. Lots of designers go for that sort of thing, but somebody like Yohji actually sort of makes a point of choosing imperfect models (sorry to go on about Yohji so hard, he's definitely not all that I like and wear, but he does resonate with me. Guy's like the Yoda of fashion). A big theme in lots of his work is the perfection of imperfection, so to speak. Sorry if that sounds pretentious or pseudo-intellectual, but it's basically why he so often uses models with facial imperfections, or pic related, where the models had black eyes and such (it also represents other fun artsy things such as his rise from bankruptcy, I believe).

Personally I don't like to try too hard because it aint me. I could never pull off SLP because Im clumsy as fugg and knock things over all the time and I've never shot heroin at a fashion party in my life. Everything looks awkward and contrived when you try and dress for a different personality than your own, imo.

I saw someone in the tube today wearing some sandals-like shoes. They were black, and just the design was sandals-like, but you couldn't actually see his socks or anything, they were idk. Something yohji might design but I don't think they're Yohji?

Can someone identify what I'm talking about?
